Co-op funds being used for Christmas toys – you bet! In this article, we are going to “call out” a few brands that you do not necessarily think about when it comes to toys. You would think about them in the agricultural world – John Deere, Kubota, and Kioti. All three of these brands offer co-op funding for a line of kid products, and you follow the same guidelines as you do for the full-size (agricultural) products.
John Deere
Rumor has it that John Deere toys (made with tin at the time), were sold by small venues during the 1920’s, just a few years after full-size tractors were manufactured. They make small vehicle sets, remote control tractors, and play farm sets, as well as “ride-on” tractors for kids to drive themselves.
Kioti
Not only does Kioti sell toys (die-cast models, stuffed animals, etc.), but they also sell men’s, women’s, and youth apparel and headwear. You can review their products at their online store.
Kubota
Kubota has an 11-page online Toy Catalog. They have a mini-size Collectible Line that has everything from a zero-turn mower to a skid steer, baler, and of course, tractors. This may be something the “big kid” in your life (AKA The Adults) may be interested in collecting. They have a Pedal Tractor with a Loader and Trailer for your little future farmer to get on and ride. They also have “Play Sets” – everything from a farm set to a Deer Hunting play set to a Building Block/Construction set.
Listed below are the high-level guidelines for these three brands. You can also search our Platform for other toys and gift ideas, such as Ganz, etc.
Brand Name – Products/Services – High-Level Guidelines
- John Deere Ag & Turf – Turf and Utility Products, Ag Management Solutions, Gold Products, John Deere Licensed Products (Toys, etc.)
Accrual fund is based on the prior year’s purchases, and reimbursement is 50% for both traditional/digital advertising. - Kioti Tractor Division – Tractors, UTV’s, Engines, Accessories (such as toys)
Dealers earn 2% of their prior year’s sales as their accrual fund and are eligible for 50% reimbursement on traditional and digital advertising – with the exception of Promotional Products/Outdoor Signage and Banners, which is 25%. A new dealer is eligible for 75% of their first year. - Kubota Tractor Corporation – Tractors, Implements, Lawn Mowers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Toys
