What does co-op advertising have to do with sleep? March is National Sleep Awareness Month, so this is a great time for any of your mattress and bedding customers to promote their sales and inventory and have you help them utilize their co-op funding.

There are so many different campaigns you can run; everything from how to improve sleep, to what are the benefits of sleep for your overall health, to improving sleep habits. There are so many types of mattresses out there, but they are all needed – there is never a “one size fits all” when it comes to mattresses. Some folks sleep great on top of a rock-hard mattress, while others need to feel like they are sinking into a cloud to get that elusive sleep! Listed below are a few sleep/mattress-related facts that may help you create great campaigns.

Sleep/Mattress Related Facts

  • The CDC has declared inadequate sleep a public health epidemic. Sleep deprivation can have an impact on your memory, pain levels, weight, and risk of health conditions.
  • A good mattress helps with pain relief. It can relieve pressure points and align your spine, which helps you wake up pain-free. If you are waking up every morning with a backache, it may be that the mattress is not right for you (maybe too firm, not firm enough, retaining too much heat, etc.).
  • A good mattress increases productivity. When you get a good night’s sleep, you wake up feeling refreshed, which helps you be more active and productive throughout the day. A good night’s sleep is also huge for mental and emotional health, as it helps eliminate mood swings, sleepiness, anxiety, depression, etc.
  • Buying a high-quality mattress also helps reduce aging signs! The mattress’s material rubs against your skin and hair. If it is low quality, you can get rashes, fine lines, and hair damage.
  • According to the Sleep Foundation, you should typically replace your mattress every 6 to 8 years.
