Dealers selling snowmobiles have a lot of opportunity for big co-op accrual balances as this is a very popular “sport”. Not only do the dealers make money on the “machine” itself, but if they are selling snow suits, helmets and other gear they may have a gold mine! Let’s look at a few “fun facts” on this great winter sport.
Snowmobile “Fun Facts”
- The average snowmobiler spends $4,000 each year on snowmobile-related recreation. This is not only for the machine and gear but also for hotels, dining out and more.
- The average snowmobiler rides 1,402 miles per year in North America.
- Approximately 88% of all active snowmobilers are male, 12% female.
- 54% of the snowmobilers usually trailer their snowmobiles to go riding (several trailer brands also offer co-op funding). This ties into item 1, as you usually travel somewhere for a couple days to enjoy your “riding time”.
- Hundreds of thousands of snowmobiles are registered in just the northern U.S. and Canada alone. There are 233,422 registered snowmobiles in Wisconsin, 201,400 in Minnesota, and 173,000 in Michigan.
This is also the time that the brands release national promotions on sales. See how you can help your customers tie into these promotions. Listed below is just one example:
