You won’t be searching for long, since there are plenty of hunting brands that offer co-op funding to their reseller channels. Hunting seasons vary by state and species but generally begins in early fall. As an example, deer archery season begins in Michigan in early October. Firearms season begins in mid to late November in states like Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. Let’s look at a few specific hunting facts below that may be helpful in some of your customers’ local advertising.

Fall Hunting Facts

  • 3.7 million bowhunters participate in archery season in the U.S. The most commonly hunted game with a bow and arrow is the White-tailed deer. Elk, bear, and turkey would follow that.
  • Bow and arrow hunting takes quite a bit of skill. Bowhunting requires you to get close to the target, which is tough to do as deer are known for their keen senses. Besides your skill level, you need to understand an animal’s behavior and habitat more than what is required for rifle hunting.
  • Rifle hunting is by far the most popular type of hunting, with 11.1 million people participating in the U.S. alone each year. Deer, elk, and wild turkey are the top three for rifle hunting, with rabbits and squirrels being 4th and 5th on the list.
  • You may be hearing more these days about helicopter rifle hunting. This is done in states like Texas, primarily to control the feral hog population. These wild pigs cause significant damage to agriculture and the environment, so this offers a rapid and effective way to reduce their numbers, yet it is an exciting sport for the “adventurous”!
  • All 50 U.S. states offer hunting licenses. Each state manages its own hunting regulations and license requirements. In 2024, the top five states that issued the most hunting licenses were Texas, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

Dealers earn 2% of all purchases made between November and October of the prior year. Reimbursement is 100% for traditional and digital media.
