If you have customers in the sporting goods, hunting, and hardware industry, now is the time to use co-op to promote hunting. Next week, November 15th, starts deer hunting season in Michigan. The hunters are now picking up warm clothing, heaters, guns, ammo, and other tools to sit out in their deer blinds and wait out that “big buck”. Let’s look at “opening day” in a few other states:

  • North Dakota November 10
  • Illinois November 17
  • Indiana November 17
  • Minnesota November 18
  • Wisconsin November 18
  • Iowa December 18

Some states, such as New York, started on October 1 and runs through December 31. Many states allowed for bow and arrow hunting in October and then switched to firearms in late October through mid-November. There are also different data restrictions based on the type of firearm used – such as a muzzleloader.

This is the time of year when many hunting-related brands offer special rebates and promotions at the national level. There is no reason you cannot tie into these promotions at the local level. Here is one for Browning.
