You can utilize co-op funding to tie into all the current and fast-approaching promotions on “Heating Season.” Whether getting a furnace tune-up for fall or adding a humidifier to your furnace for those dry winter months, brands are starting to promote their specials. Your advertisers will want to be sure they begin promoting these “tune-ups” to fill in their work schedule.
Here are a few fun facts about the HVAC industry:
How often should a furnace filter be changed? In general, for 1-to-2-inch filters, replace them every 1 to 3 months. For 3-to-4-inch filters, replace them every 6 to 9 months. For 5-to-6-inch filters, replace them every 9 to 12 months.
How much does it cost to add a whole-house humidifier? $400 to $1,200 installed, depending on the size, type, and home’s HVAC system.
What is the average cost of a furnace tune-up? $79 – $179. But considering it costs anywhere from $6,000 – $9,000 for an entire furnace replacement, that tune-up money may be the best money you spend. It will keep the unit clean and alert you to any problems that can be fixed (and much cheaper) before a total replacement.
Let’s look at several of the HVAC brands that offer co-op funding. Many of these brands offer co-op funds to the distributors that purchase them. The distributors will then pass down the co-op funds to the installers who purchase units through them.
Brand – Product/Service – High-Level Guidelines
- American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning – HVAC units
Co-op funds are provided to Distributors that they can pass down. Funds are earned monthly and are allocated for use quarterly. They will reimburse 50% for traditional/digital advertising. - Carrier – HVAC units
This also applies to the Bryant brand. The funding goes to the distributor, who manages the program for the dealers/installers who purchase through them. They will reimburse 50% for traditional/digital advertising. - Lennox Industries, Inc. – Central Air and Heating Products
Lennox also offers a program (with very slight differences) in Canada. They will reimburse 60% for traditional/digital media. You must work with their preferred vendor for all digital advertising products. - The Trane Company – HVAC Units – Residential & Light Commercial
Accrual funds earned are anywhere from 1 to 4% based on your monthly purchases and your tier level. Reimbursement is 50 – 70% based on your tier level.
