This is the time to help your agriculture customers use their co-op funds for advertising. The World Ag Expo just wrapped up in Tulare, California, last week. That show is the largest in the world, with over 1,200 exhibitors and over 100,000 attendees each year. Your customers (Ag product dealers/resellers) just had a chance to see (and probably order and earn more co-op dollars), all the latest and greatest in Agricultural machinery, technology and more.
Let’s look at a few agriculture-related facts that you may be able to incorporate into some great ad campaigns.
Agricultural Tidbits
- What is the difference between a farm and a ranch? A farm generally grows crops and may raise various animals (dairy, pigs, chickens), while ranches specialize in raising large herds of grazing livestock – primarily cattle or sheep over vast areas of land. Farms are usually much smaller in size and more diverse (crops and animals), whereas ranches typically are very large areas that require extensive land management for herds.
- The state of Texas has the most farms in the U.S., with just over 230,000, Iowa (with 87k), Missouri (with 86k), and Ohio (with 74k) round out the top four.
- The top four states for ranches are Montana, followed by Kansas, North Dakota, and then Texas. Wyoming is number te,n which surprised me as I thought it would be right after Montana. Other states in the top 10 include Oklahoma, South Dakota, Iowa, Kentuck,y and Colorado.
