It’s February, and we are talking about co-op funding for boats?! Well, depending on where you live you may be going boating this weekend while the rest of us may be shoveling snow. In February and March there are boat shows all over the country and if your customer sells boats, outboard motors, or trailers they may want to be a part of the shows and advertise that they are in attendance.

Many brands allow their resellers to utilize their co-op funding for Trade Shows. So, not only can they exhibit at the various shows, but your customers can also use their co-op funds to advertise that they will have a booth at the event (via both digital and traditional advertising methods).

Below are several “Boating Fun Facts” that you might be able to use as an angle in creating a great advertising campaign(s) for your customers.

Boating Fun Facts

  • Here are the top 5 states with the largest number of boats registered. Number 1 is California with 1,051,606. Next up is Michigan with 1,000,337, in 3rd place is Florida with 922,597, 4th place is Minnesota with 834,974 and in 5th place is Wisconsin with 650,280.

  • Although Lake Erie has the most fish, the top 3 fishing lakes are in Colorado, Minnesota and Florida. Grand Lake, Colorado is the deepest natural lake in Colorado, which is one of the best fishing lakes in the state for trout. Mille Lacs Lake, Minnesota is Minnesota’s second-largest inland lake, that covers 207 square miles. It is primarily known for being one of the best lakes in the U.S. for walleye. Lake Istokpoga, Florida offers freshwater fishing opportunities for black crappie and boasts one of the highest largemouth bass catch rates in Florida. Winter or early spring are when crappie and bass fishing are at a peak.
