We are right in the middle of air conditioning repair and install season; use co-op funds to help spread the word! There are thousands of homeowners that go into the winter months that were totally aware that their air conditioning unit needed “help” when they turned it off for the last time (and before the first snowfall!). They figured with the upcoming holiday season they needed to hold on to their cash for their gift and holiday dinner shopping. They may have also thought they would wait for their tax refund to get that “repairman” over to their house as they may already have known they need a brand-new unit. Well, now is the time, which is also why many brands offer spring sale offers.
Let’s look at a few HVAC related facts that you may be able to incorporate into some great ad campaigns:
Air Conditioning/HVAC Facts
- April is the best time of year to schedule your air conditioning maintenance. Booking in spring often allows for more flexible scheduling and sometimes better pricing. At a minimum, air conditioners should be serviced once a year, although some professionals recommend twice-yearly checks for optimal performance.
- The average cost of a new unit ranges from $4,500 to $9,500 and there are some cases where the price is higher. Units can range from $6,000 – $8,000 for a high-efficiency unit. Then having professional installation can add $3,000 to $6,000 to the cost.
- Where the costs really jump is if ductwork is required. If you need to replace or fix existing ductwork, that alone can run anywhere from $3,000 – $10,000.
- Now you can see why that air conditioning maintenance “check”, which runs between $99 to $150 may just be the best money you spend after looking at what it costs to replace an entire unit.
