It’s time to “hit the links” and bring co-op into the mix. Of course, there is a lot of co-op funding available for sporting goods, such as golf clubs, bags, balls, and more, but most folks probably don’t think about the funds available for golf carts. The “thing” about the carts is that they cost a lot more money than clubs and balls, so if you have a dealer selling golf carts, they are probably earning a lot of co-op funding with all the carts they purchase from the manufacturer(s).
Not only are carts almost mandatory for golf (who wants to walk 18 holes in 95 degrees?), but they are the required mode of transportation at a lot of different living facilities. The Villages in Florida is the world’s largest golf cart community. As of 2023, there were approximately 85,000 golf carts in the community, and with the way the community is expanding, it will likely reach over 100,000 in no time. They currently have nearly 100 miles of golf cart paths!
Let’s look at a few other golf cart communities; you may have customers selling carts in these areas who are ready to advertise!
Golf Cart Communities
- Peachtree City, Georgia, is number two on the list. This development is located 30 miles south of Atlanta and boasts over 90 miles of multi-use paths for golf carts, walkers, and cyclists.
- Number three on the list of communities is Laguna Woods Village in California. They have over 12,000 units across 2,100 acres of land. This location is ten minutes away from the beach, but no worries if you can’t make it to the sand, they have five pools on site.
- Sun City, Arizona, is number four. This is located approximately 16 miles northwest of downtown Phoenix. Folks have been flocking to this location as there is no city sales tax making it a bit cheaper to live.
- Number five is Charleston, South Carolina. What is interesting is that it isn’t really one development; the entire town has embraced the golf cart lifestyle. The citEcar Electric Vehicles company recently moved their headquarters to Charleston due to demand for its products there.
- Numbers 6 and 7 are located in various parts of Florida. Number six is called On Top of the World, which is located in Ocala, Florida. Number seven is the Indian River Colony Club located in Melbourne, Florida. What is cool about this one is that it is a community for retired military personnel.
