I think the terminology should now be “Drivers, start your engines” (hello, Danica Patrick!) – NASCAR season starts February 6th!

This year will mark the first year since 2009 that more Cup Series events will air on broadcast TV versus cable. There are a lot of broadcast partners and industry stakeholders (various auto and auto parts makers/brands), that can get more “air-time” with the help of co-op funding.

Here are just a few of the major races that will be broadcast on TV, specifically FOX and NBC:

  • Daytona 500  – Sunday, February 20th
  • Bristol Dirt – Sunday, April 17th
  • Talladega – Sunday, April 24th
  • Coca-Cola 600 (Charlotte, NC) – Sunday, May 29th

But, cable is still getting plenty of “miles” out of NASCAR. USA Network will be the new home for 26 of the races – the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series. The Xfinity series hits the track at the Nashville Superspeedway on Saturday, June 25th. So, there is also plenty of opportunities to utilize co-op funding for Cable as well.

Being as the NASCAR season goes through November 6th, with the Championship Race taking place in Phoenix there is more than ample time to use available funding. Not only does each racetrack have a multitude of brand name sponsors but so does every single car and driver. You have sponsors like Geico, Coca-Cola, and Xfinity but you also have plenty of Automobile (New car) and Automotive Parts sponsors. You also want to think about Newspaper and Digital advertising when you think of NASCAR and co-op funding. Why you ask? Don’t you want your customers in each race city to be able to promote their restaurants, store sales, and everything else going on race weekend while throngs of fans are in town spending money…of course you do!

Listed below are just a few of those brands that appear in the Localogy Co>Op Connect product.
