Father’s Day is June 18th, and you know what that means? It means that Mom or the kids will get stuck doing the lawn work, pool work, and grilling that weekend!!! Just kidding (maybe!), it means that you need to come up with a fabulous gift idea for Dad to show him how much you appreciate him.

Well, what the heck does Father’s Day have to do with Co-op? It means that if you work with an advertiser that sells any items that “Dad” might love, they may be eligible to use their co-op funding to promote those items. Getting those items advertised, starting at the end of May or the first of June, will get all those moms and kids into their stores to buy the gifts. Then when your advertiser depletes their shelves, they can order new inventory and earn more co-op funding to promote the next holiday (think 4th of July!).

Let’s look at a few brands that offer co-op funding in the fishing, lawn care, grilling, golfing, and boating categories below:

Brand – Product/Service – High-Level Guidelines

  • Daiwa Corporation – Fishing Rods/Reels/Tackle
    Mfr. will reimburse up to 100% for both traditional and digital media. Accrual funds are earned on current year purchases.
  • Okuma Fishing Tackle Corp. – Fishing Rods/Reels/Tackle
    Mfr. will reimburse 100% for both traditional and digital media. Accrual funds are 2% of current year purchases.
  • Callaway Golf – Golf clubs, bags, and accessories
    Co-op funding is offered on a case-by-case basis. Contact your Callaway sales rep. to work out a co-op funding plan.
  • Toro Company – Lawn & Garden – Walk/Riding Lawn Mowers
    Accrual funds are based on Dealer Level – anywhere from 1 to 6% of current year purchases. The brand will reimburse 50-70% of traditional and digital advertising.
  • Kubota Tractor Corporation – Lawn Mowers
    Accrual funds are established each year based on a percentage of the dealer’s current business plus a percentage of growth for the year. The brand will reimburse 50% for traditional/digital advertising.
  • Big Green Egg – Cookers/Smokers/Grills Mfr. offers co-op funding to their distributors. It is distributors’ responsibility to work with retailers that purchase from them to pass the co-op reimbursement funds down to them.
  • Yamaha Motor – Watercraft – Boats/Waverunners
    Mfr. will reimburse 50-80% of traditional/digital advertising. Accrual earned is based on purchases made August 1 – July 31 and attainment level.
