Every media type, with exception of Digital ads, always appeared to have their niche categories. The Yellow Pages was the place to go to find Attorneys, Plumbers, and HVAC Companies. Newspapers are what you viewed to see Automobile Specials and all the latest department store sales (Macy’s, Belk’s, Nordstrom, etc.). Magazine ads always featured the latest in beauty products, designer clothing, and always have amazing full-page jewelry ads. Digital Ads (banners, SEM, Social Media, etc.), run the gamut in promoting all the categories. A smart advertiser will do a combination of digital and traditional advertising to cover all the bases and get folks into their store.
In talking with local jewelry stores, they had amazing sales numbers this summer which they claimed was very unusual. No matter what is going on in the world, the holidays are getting closer and this year may be a record-setting Christmas, especially in the jewelry business. With that in mind, it seems like the Magazine industry would really benefit from knowing the brands that offer co-op funding to their retailer network. Here is just a partial list of those brands:

  • A Jaffe
  • Citizen Watch Company of America, Inc.
  • Commemorative Brands
  • Hearts on Fire
  • Le Vian
  • Mikimoto
  • Pandora Jewelry
  • Rolex Watch U.S.A., Inc.
  • Shinola Detroit
  • Tacori

If any of your advertisers sell any of the above brands; there is a good chance that a beautiful, full-page magazine ad could be at least partially funded by the brand. It is time for your advertisers to come up with their holiday strategy and you certainly can help them with co-op.
